Would you be interested in joining a chapter of Holy Hikes in the Diocese of Missouri?
Holy Hikes is a Christian network of eco-ministries committed to rebuilding communion between all of God's creation. They are committed to a common practice of worshiping God in the beauty of the outdoors and holding liturgical hikes throughout the year to immerse ourselves in what John Muir called "God's first temple."
The salvation of humanity, existence of God's Church on this planet, and the healing of Mother Earth are intricately tied together in one sacred heartbeat. This belief is a the heart of eco-ministry and guides our work through Holy Hikes.
A holy hike is what it sounds like: a stroll or a hike outdoors with intention - the intention to appreciate, meditate upon, even worship God during a walk through God's creation. It can be done in a state nature preserve or the neighborhood park down around the corner. The purpose is to get outside. Here is a link to their national website: <https://holyhikes.org/>
The Creation Care Ministry is looking for people interested in forming a Holy Hike chapter in our diocese. If you have an interest in learning more, contact the Rev. Kevin McGrane Sr., Missioner for Creation Care, for details.
