Members of the clergy in the Episcopal Church are ordained as bishop, priest or deacon. Both men and women can be ordained.
More than 100 ordained women and men are canonically resident in the Diocese of Missouri. Many are actively serving in parishes and faith communities; others serve as supply priests; and some are retired.

Priests
A priest represents Christ and his Church, particularly as pastor to the people; to proclaim the gospel; to administer the sacraments; and to bless and declare pardon in the name of God.
Deacons
Deacons exercise “a special ministry of servanthood” directly under the deacon's bishop, serving all people and especially those in need.
Supply Clergy
Supply priests are available to fill in for other clergy in times of illness or time away from their congregations in the Diocese of Missouri.
