Sewanee, The University of the South
Sewanee is the only university in the nation that is owned and governed by dioceses of the Episcopal Church, specifically the 28 dioceses of the southeastern United States (including the Diocese of Missouri). The School of Theology at Sewanee represents the best in theological education for the clergy and lay leaders of tomorrow. Degree programs of various types prepare priests and lay persons for ministry.
St. Andrew's Resources for Seniors
St. Andrew's vision is to create a society where all elders are respected, productive, secure and fulfilled. Its mission is to enable elders and their caregivers through choices and options to worry less.
St. Luke's Hospital
Heeding their bishop's call for a "church hospital," a group of Episcopal physicians and church members opened St. Luke's Infirmary in 1865 in the heart of the city of St. Louis. In 1948 the Presbyterians in St. Louis joined in the sponsorship. The hospital expanded to the west in Chesterfield in 1975. The East Hospital was put up for sale in 1984 and eventually sold. Today, St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri serves the greater St. Louis area as a premier regional healthcare provider.
Episcopal Presbyterian Health Trust
EPHT, formerly the Episcopal Presbyterian Charitable Health and Medical Trust, is dedicated to providing access to health care for underserved populations. Our mission grew out of a commitment to a healthcare ministry in our community and is stewarded by volunteer leadership from both the Episcopal and Presbyterian faiths.
The Rt. Rev. Deon Johnson, 11th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri, is a trustee, along with other members of our diocese. The organization offers grants to local health care nonprofits.
