The fight for common sense gun legislation faces an uphill battle in the Missouri Legislature, to the point where sensible gun bills rarely even get a committee hearing.
We are encouraging people of all faiths to send letters to Senator Caleb Rowden, Senate President, and Representative Dean Plocher, Speaker of the Missouri House asking that sensible gun legislation gets assigned to committee in a timely manner so we can have a public debate on the issues.
The letters linked below do not address specific bills, but a list of possible common sense gun topics which may be introduced in the upcoming legislative session.
There are separate letters for the two legislative leaders, both available in Word and PDF documents. Also, there is one set of letters with the logo of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri, and one set without, to which the logo of your faith group can be added.
There is room at the bottom for your name and mailing address as well as space for a personal message if you would like to add one. The mailing address is at the top. There is no deadline for mailing these letters—you will be sending an important message no matter when it is received.
