St. Vincent’s-in-the-Vineyard Celebrates the Ministry of Warren Crews
July 12, 2025
Ste. Genevieve, MO
The congregation of St. Vincent’s-in-the-Vineyard Episcopal Church gathered on Saturday night, July 12 at Chaumette Vineyards and Winery to celebrate their 15-year partnership with the Rev. Dr. Warren Crews. Warren announced earlier this year his intent to retire fully from the ministry. The congregation celebrated this milestone with a dinner prepared by the staff at the winery, a special cake, and the presentation of a painting of St. Vincent’s to Warren.
Warren Crews was ordained as a priest in the Episcopal Church in 1965. This year marks his 60th year of ordained ministry, alongside his wonderful wife, Mary Jane. This remarkable couple began their service to St. Vincent’s-in-the-Vineyard as a supply priest in our monthly rotation after he had already “retired”. In the intervening years, Warren has served as pastor, preacher, guide, and friend. He has been presiding at services twice a month and has guided our Bishop’s Committee as our clergy representative. We have truly been blessed to have Warren and Mary Jane among us!.
The picture presented to Warren is of St. Vincent’s-in-the-Vineyard in the fall. It was painted by a long-time server at Chaumette, the talented artist Tim Benz.
