The Rt. Rev. Deon K. Johnson, Bishop of The Diocese of Missouri, issued this statement:
“As part of the House of Bishops planning team and one of the crafters of the attached Statement from the House of Bishops, please be assured that I take seriously the commitments at the end of the House of Bishop’s statement and I will continue to advocate for accountability and the restoration of trust within the structures of the Episcopal Church. While the House of Bishops statement does not name specific actions to be taken around the Title IV Process, we are committed to working with the House of Deputies and leaders across the Church to bring resolutions to General Convention 2024, which is the only body that can make substantive changes to the process. The work of moving towards Beloved Community is hard, yet holy and I am committed to moving us as a Church a bit closer to its realization.”
