The Diocese of Missouri's JustFood truck is officially launching October 22 and will soon be bringing food to areas of high poverty throughout our diocese. This truck is part of our Jubilee Ministry, which is led by the Rev. Deacon Barbi Click.
"This truck will not only offer good food to people who are hungry, it will offer a ministry of presence in areas that the Episcopal Church rarely goes -- into neighborhoods of high poverty," Deacon Barbi explained. "It is about meeting the people where they are."
Barbi has spent the past year applying for grants, overseeing the purchase and repurposing of the truck, and securing insurance, permits, and inspections.
The first stop for the JustFood truck will be October 22 at Hope Episcopal Church where Deacon Barbi and Bishop Deon Johnson will be on hand for the truck's first public viewing.
This new ministry needs the support of the entire Diocese to succeed. How do you or your parish want to be involved?

Jubilee Ministry was established in 1982 by the 67th General Convention of The Episcopal Church as “a ministry of joint discipleship in Christ with poor and oppressed people, wherever they are found, to meet basic human needs and to build a just society.”
