April 9, 2024 The Rev. Dr. Teresa Danieley

The Episcopal Church, and the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri, believes that abortion ought to be safe, legal, and treated like any other medical procedure. This is a faithful stance, in line with our Baptismal Covenant, theology and Biblical interpretation. (I have included many resources below.)

Signatures for the Missourians for Constitutional Freedom ballot initiative, which "would end Missouri's total abortion ban and put families – not politicians – back in charge of personal medical decisions" must be turned in by May 5, 2024. There are currently significant gaps in signature gathering in Congressional District 3 and Congressional District 4.

Given our expertise in signature gathering, my full-time employer, Missouri Jobs with Justice has been asked to help lead door-to-door canvasses and signature gathering events especially in the St. Charles area and mid-Missouri/Columbia area. If you would like to personally volunteer in the next three weeks and/or if your ministry - with the permission of your clergy-in-charge and/or vestry/Bishop's Committee, would like to host a signature gathering event in CD 3 or CD 4 before May 5, please contact me as soon as possible at 314-503-7415 (call/text) or teresa@mojwj.org. I would make sure that you receive training & materials directly.
