August is a time of transition in the diocesan communications office. Bishop Deon Johnson has named AhSa-Ti Nu Ford as the Interim Communications Director. She replaces Communications Director Janis Greenbaum, who is retiring from full-time work.
Nu Ford has has served as the Digital Projects Manager for the Diocese since 2021, managing our social media presence, producing the Bishop's podcast, and assisting in many other special projects on a part-time/contract basis. She has a bachelor's degree in Sound Arts from Ex'pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, CA. She is a sound engineer, artistic activist, and social media specialist with a background in film, television, live corporate events, theaters and festivals.
"I am thrilled to step into this role and carry forward the incredible mission of sharing and connecting across our diocese and beyond," Nu Ford said. "It is my hope that together, we can extend our reach to help bridge gaps and create a more united and compassionate world."
Nu Ford and her wife, the Rev. Lauren Bennett, are proud parents of their son Ahmmit and family pup Tyler.
Greenbaum has served as the Communications Director for the Diocese of Missouri since the fall of 2019, sharing stories, building websites, publishing newsletters, creating videos, and building relationships throughout the Diocese. Before that, she served as the Director of Communications and Christian Formation at Grace Church in Kirkwood and St. Martin's in Ellisville. She has a master's degree in journalism and worked for several years as a broadcast journalist.
"I'm so grateful to have spent the last 20 years getting to know so many wonderful people in this Episcopal community," Greenbaum said. "I love our church and I will miss working with you all. Thank you for sharing your stories with me!"
Both Nu Ford and Greenbaum will be working during the first two weeks of August to help create a smooth transition in the communications office. Greenbaum's last day will be Aug. 15.
