Dr. Catherine Meeks to Speak at the 186th Diocesan Convention

The Episcopal Diocese of Missouri is honored to welcome Dr. Catherine Meeks as the keynote speaker for the 186th Diocesan Convention, taking place this November. A nationally recognized leader in racial healing, spiritual formation, and social justice, Dr. Meeks has spent her life helping individuals and communities embrace transformation and live into the call of beloved community.
About Dr. Catherine Meeks
Dr. Meeks is the founder of Turquoise and Lavender: An Institute for Transformation and Healing and the former executive director of the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing. Through decades of teaching, writing, and community leadership, she has become a prophetic voice for courage, compassion, and the work of reconciliation in the church and the world.

Recipient of the President Joseph R. Biden Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr. Meeks holds a master’s degree in social work from Clark Atlanta University and a PhD from Emory University. She is also the author of six books exploring faith, race, and transformation, including titles that have guided clergy and lay leaders nationwide in building more just and compassionate communities.
Convention Workshop
In addition to her keynote address, Dr. Meeks will host an interactive workshop session during the convention’s workshop block. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with her directly in conversation about practices of healing, reflection, and courageous leadership.
