Welcome to the New Diocesan Prayer Ministry

The Diocese is delighted to announce the establishment of a new Prayer Ministry, lovingly blessed by Bishop Deon. This initiative emerges from a shared vision of deepening spiritual connections and offering intentional prayer support throughout the Diocese.

Goals of the Prayer Ministry
This Ministry aims to uplift the Diocese through prayer by:

  • Praying in preparation for and during diocesan events.
  • Supporting individuals preparing for ordination or commissioning.
  • Offering prayers for communities navigating transitions or conflict.
  • Sending prayer cards to those who have been specifically prayed for.
  • Sharing prayer resources for significant events and anniversaries within the Diocese and the broader community.

Meet the Prayer Ministers
The ministry is blessed to be served by nine dedicated prayer ministers:

  • The Rev. Dcn. Janet Schisser, Calvary, Columbia
  • The Rev. Dcn. Betty Bowen, Trinity, St. Charles
  • Bro. Sam Kincade, Christ Church Cathedral
  • The Rev. Kenneth Chibwanga, GACC
  • Janie Johnson, Grace, Jefferson City
  • Linda Lawless, St. Timothy’s, Creve Coeur
  • Vicki Stegman, St. Mark’s, St. Louis
  • Adrienne Dillon, All Saints Ascension, St. Louis
  • Kerry Quinlisk, Transfiguration, Lake St. Louis

In the upcoming issues of Proclaim, you will have the opportunity to learn more about each prayer minister as they share their personal reflections and insights on the power of prayer.

A Ministry Rooted in Hope and Love
This new Prayer Ministry is a testament to our collective faith and commitment to serve as vessels of God’s love. Through prayer, we strengthen our bond with God and one another as we uplift our communities with hope, peace, joy, and love.

May this Advent and Christmas season be filled with blessings as we embark on this spiritual journey together.
